Digital Award Recognition for Xentum

16th June 2010

Xentum Wealth Management beat stiff competition to make the short list for the Best On-Line Brand Development category in the north west's digital industry awards - The Big Chips Awards 2010.

The brightest creative minds in the region congregated at the digital industry's biggest event of the year at the Palace Hotel in Manchester to hear the roll call of winners at the prestigious awards ceremony.

With nearly 300 entries being submitted across 20 categories competition to be short listed was tough with lead judge Michael Nutley, editor in chief of New Media Age setting 'the bar for inclusion on the short list very high'.

Xentum was short listed within the 'best on-line brand development' category for its online campaign 'X Marks the Spot' which aimed to raise the prominence of Xentum's website online and attract more visitors to the site.

Xentum's managing director Dominic Baldwin who attended the event with wife Kate said "It's the first time we've entered a digital industry award and felt that after all the hard work we've put into the site over the past year it would be great for it to be recognised."

"Financial services tends to be viewed as a dull necessity and we've really tried to make the subject more interesting and relevant to the layman who visits the site but equally not dumb down complex issues.  It has been a challenge, but hopefully we're getting the balance right."

"As a first time entrant to the awards we were thrilled to be selected for the short list - it's inspired us to continue to evolve the website."

The winner of the category was Manchester Museums Consortium and Visit Manchester with 'Creative Tourist' and the overall Grand Prix accolade was presented to Lightbox Education with 'MP for a Week'.
