Our team
Meet the team behind Xentum
Our team isn’t just a group of planners, paraplanners and technical experts we’re people who’ve lived real lives, faced real challenges and understand what truly matters.
Everyone here believes in the same thing: people come first, money comes second.
You won’t find ego, jargon or sales targets.
You’ll find a team that listens, cares and wants to help you build a life that actually works for you and your family.
Yes, your day-to-day contact will be with your experienced, qualified financial planner but behind them is a team with a mix of skills, backgrounds and perspectives. People who know what it’s like to juggle families, careers, uncertainty, loss, opportunity and change. People who bring not just technical knowledge, but life experience.
And that matters.
Because great planning isn’t just about numbers it’s about understanding people.
That’s why we work together to make sure you always have the right support, the right guidance and the right conversations at the right time.
We’re here to help you live the best life possible, with a team you can trust beside you at every step.
Meet the team
Dominic founded Xentum in 2004 after becoming increasingly frustrated with the limitations of traditional financial services firms. He believed the industry focused too heavily on accumulation and product, and not nearly enough on people, purpose, or quality of life. Xentum was created to challenge that thinking and to build a different kind of firm: one centred on lifestyle financial planning, where money is a tool to support better lives, not the goal in itself.
At his core, Dominic is a people person. He has a natural curiosity and an instinctive ability to uncover what truly matters to the individuals and families he works with, often identifying problems clients haven’t yet articulated themselves. His approach is firmly rooted in a simple principle: you first, money second. That philosophy has become the DNA of Xentum and underpins how the entire team operates.
Dominic believes that when clients gain clarity and control over their financial present and future, they are empowered to make better decisions about how they spend their time, where they focus their energy, and what they prioritise in life. For him, that is the essence of true financial freedom, not wealth for its own sake, but the ability to live deliberately and well.
As a leader, Dominic combines vision with humility. He challenges convention, encourages independent thinking, and expects high standards, while remaining deeply committed to doing the right thing for clients and for the people within the business. His influence is felt not through ego, but through consistency, integrity, and an unwavering belief in the value of thoughtful planning.
Outside of work, Dominic enjoys travelling, reading, and mountaineering. Alongside his wife, Wendy, he is also immersed in the ongoing renovation of Moss Wood, their beautiful tea-plantation-style home, a project that reflects his appreciation for patience, craftsmanship, and long-term vision.

Outside of work, Rachel loves to travel, with holidays playing a big part in her life. Her dream trip is an Alaska cruise to visit Glacier Bay National Park, drawn by its vast landscapes and remarkable wildlife, from grizzly bears to humpback whales.
A self-confessed closet computer geek, Rachel rates the internet as the greatest invention of all time and greatly admires Alan Turing, not just for shaping the modern computer, but also for being a proud Mancunian.

Ed joined Xentum in 2014 as a fresh graduate and is our longest-serving team member, having quite literally done everything along the way. From the early days through to where the business is now, Ed has grown with Xentum and helped shape how we work.
A keen cricketer, Ed once scored 200 runs for Cheshire U14s, and that same commitment shows in his professional life. As a Chartered Financial Planner, he puts 100% into every client he works with and takes real satisfaction from sitting in client meetings and knowing he has made a genuine difference to someone’s life.
Over time, Ed has developed into a true business specialist, combining technical expertise with a deep understanding of clients, their goals, and the wider context around them. He is someone we are genuinely fortunate to have and a huge part of the stability and quality of what we do at Xentum.
Outside of work, Ed is a proud dad to his two young children, Theo and Alexander, who are very much what make him tick. Alongside family life, he has ambitious travel plans, from sailing the Adriatic to seeing the Northern Lights from an igloo in Finland.
His ultimate dream is storm chasing in the American Midwest in the hope of seeing a tornado, though we hope he keeps a safe distance, as losing him would be far too high a price to pay.

Sasha joined Xentum in 2021 as part of our administrative support team, supporting our financial planners and helping ensure everything was done properly and with care.
Before joining Xentum, Sasha built a varied and practical career across Boots Chemist, easyJet, and then financial services. That breadth of experience has given her a genuinely grounded view of the world and of people, something that shows in how she listens, communicates, and approaches planning.
Through commitment, curiosity, and a strong work ethic, Sasha has grown into wonderful financial planner in her own right. She combines strong attention to detail with a clear understanding that good financial planning is about real lives, not just numbers or process.
Thoughtful, steady, and deeply aligned with our values, Sasha is very much the heart and soul of Xentum. She brings clarity, warmth, and consistency to everything she does, and embodies our belief that good planning should always be human, practical, and done properly.

Tristan has worked in financial services since graduating in 2000 and brings a depth of experience that only comes from having truly been there and done it. Having previously run his own advisory business, he understands first hand the trials, pressures, and responsibility that come with running a business. He uses that insight every day to better support his clients, particularly business owners and those navigating complex financial decisions.
A married father of two, Tristan spends much of his time away from work supporting his son and daughter in their own pursuits. Family plays a central role in his life, shaping how he thinks about planning, responsibility, and long-term outcomes.
Sport is another huge part of who Tristan is. As a coach at Burnage Rugby Academy since 2018, he takes real pride in seeing both his own children and their teammates grow not just as sportspeople, but as individuals. His coaching philosophy, both on and off the field, is rooted in the belief that progress is personal, guided by Jordan Peterson’s mantra: “Compare yourself to who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.”
That same mindset carries into his work at Xentum. Tristan has a genuine passion for sport and works closely with many athletes, helping them plan for life beyond the pitch and build secure, meaningful futures. Practical, grounded, and deeply values-led, he brings perspective, discipline, and encouragement to everything he does, making him a trusted adviser to clients and a valued presence within the team.

Sophie is an Associate Financial Planner at Xentum, bringing a people-first approach to financial planning, alongside warmth, energy and a positive outlook.
She joined Xentum at an important stage in our journey and brings curiosity, care and a genuine desire to help people make confident, informed decisions about their future. Sophie listens well, asks thoughtful questions and focuses on what really matters.
Her strong work ethic comes from growing up around hard work. Sophie’s dad runs a road surfacing company, which gave her a grounded, no-nonsense attitude and a real appreciation for consistency and effort.
Alongside that, Sophie is fun to be around and full of energy. She gets stuck in, lifts the team around her and takes pride in doing things properly.
She is developing her technical knowledge as she progresses through her financial planning qualifications, with a clear focus on delivering long-term value. Outside of work, Sophie is a proud mum to her son, Theo, which shapes how she thinks about planning and the future.

His focus is on education, clarity and long-term thinking, helping athletes move from short-term decisions to structured plans that support both their playing careers and what comes next.

Claire has been with us since 2004, making her one of our most experienced team members. A cornerstone of our office team, reliable, compassionate and honest are three words that best describe Claire.
If Claire was to throw the dinner party of her dreams, Audrey Hepburn and Alan Carr would be her two guests of honour, bringing class and comedy to the table. Greek food would be on the menu, although she would not be serving any moussaka due to her aversion to aubergines.

Emma Hughes is an enthusiastic and passionate member of the Xentum team, bringing energy, warmth, and dedication to everything she does.
Emma started her journey with us as a key part of our Client Services team, where she quickly became known for her care, organisation, and ability to make clients feel genuinely looked after. Over time, she has grown into managing our much-loved group, playing a central role in keeping the business running smoothly and clients supported at every step.
Her energy and happiness are infectious. Emma has a natural ability to light up a room, combining genuine positivity with real skill and professionalism. Whether she’s tackling a complex task, supporting the wider team, or stepping in to help wherever needed, her passion for her work always shines through.
Away from the day-to-day, Emma’s love of dogs is well known across the team, often sharing stories from her canine adventures. We are incredibly lucky to have her; she brings heart, momentum, and a sense of togetherness that makes a real difference to Xentum and to the people we serve.

Gemma joined the Xentum team in January 2020 and, quite honestly, it feels like she has always been here. She fitted in immediately and has become one of those people the business simply relies on.
Bubbly, enthusiastic, and endlessly capable, Gemma brings a wealth of financial services knowledge alongside a calm, steady approach that means things just get done.
She has a wonderful way of combining humour with reliability, and you always know where you stand with her. Whatever the task, she can be trusted to see it through properly and without fuss.
The most rewarding part of her role, in her own words, is when clients thank the team for helping make their dreams a reality. That sense of purpose runs through everything she does and is a big part of why clients and colleagues alike value her so highly.
Away from work, Gemma is a proud cat lover and someone who
genuinely enjoys life, bringing that same warmth and balance into the workplace. Her first childhood memory is losing her helium balloon at Stockport Market, a story that still makes the team smile. Gemma is a true gift of a team member: funny, steady, dependable, and someone who will never let you down.

James joined Xentum in December 2017 and is known by colleagues as someone who does things differently, very deliberately so. That mindset sits at the heart of Xentum’s approach: questioning convention, focusing on people first, and building something that genuinely works in the real world.
Before joining Xentum, James gained experience across a wide range of organisations in the private, professional, and charitable sectors. That breadth of experience continues to guide his decision-making, grounding the business in clarity, fairness, and long-term thinking rather than short-term wins.
For James, the most important things in life are family and having a good journey, not just a good outcome. He is fierce in that belief, and it shapes how he leads and how Xentum supports its clients. At its core, he believes our role is to put a hand out to others, help them gain clarity, and support them in living better lives.
Outside of work, James is a keen traveller and a strong believer in building life around experiences. His dream trip is a family road journey along Route 66, a fitting reflection of his belief that the journey matters as much as the destination.
A committed optimist, James draws inspiration from Thomas Edison’s view that failure is simply part of finding what works. Resilience, grit, and positivity are values he holds deeply, not as slogans, but as practical tools for navigating challenge and uncertainty.
That outlook is perhaps best captured by a line from The Lorax:
“Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
It’s a sentiment that underpins how James leads, how Xentum operates, and why doing the right thing always comes first.

Fun, knowledgeable, and deeply driven, Faye is someone who will move mountains to get things done for clients and the wider team. Joining the team with a strong background in client support and financial administration, Lyndsay brings a thoughtful, steady approach and a natural ability to see the bigger picture. Alongside supporting the day-to-day experience for clients and colleagues, she plays a key role in helping shape how we communicate who we are and what we stand for.
Lyndsay supports our marketing and messaging, helping to tell the Xentum story in a way that feels clear, human, and true to our values. She has an enviable ability to turn her hand to just about anything, stepping in wherever needed and quietly getting things done. A true doer, she brings consistency, reliability, and momentum to the business.
She values strong working relationships and takes pride in developing her skills in ways that support both the business and the people within it. Known for her positive mindset and strong work ethic, Lyndsay measures success not by noise or titles, but by being there for people when it matters most.
That outlook is shaped by her greatest inspiration, her late grandfather, whom she describes as the most hardworking, loving, and humble person she has ever known. Those values sit at the heart of how she shows up every day at Xentum.
Often starting her day with a 6am gym session, Lyndsay brings the same discipline and drive into her work. And if she were hosting a dream dinner party, John Travolta would be top of the guest list. If “You’re The One That I Want” comes on, there’s a fair chance she’d be singing along.

Ben has led a distinguished and colourful career in the military, serving with the Parachute Regiment on multiple operational tours and later commanding the Reserve Parachute Battalion. In recognition of his leadership and service, he was awarded an OBE, reflecting both his capability and the trust placed in him throughout his career.
A lifetime of experience in demanding environments has shaped Ben into someone defined by calm, empathy, clear thinking, and sound judgement. These qualities are invaluable in his role as a Xentum Ambassador, where he brings perspective and clarity to situations that often carry heightened emotion, helping people slow things down and think rationally when it matters most.
Thoughtful, driven, and steadfast, Ben never folds or wavers in his beliefs. He leads quietly but firmly, guided by a strong moral compass and a deep respect for others. His presence brings reassurance, balance, and trust, whether supporting clients or contributing within the wider team.
Ben lives by two simple but powerful principles: treat people as you would expect to be treated, and be prepared for the unexpected. They are not just mottos, but values he lives by every day, and they sit at the heart of how he shows up at Xentum and supports the people around him.
