📖 Our story is just our thinking and we are not our thoughts! 💭
The stories we hold in our minds are powerful and they can shape how we see ourselves and the world around us. If we’re constantly telling ourselves a story that we’re not good enough, not smart enough, or not capable enough, it’s likely that we’ll start to believe it. This can have a huge effect on our lives and stop us from pursuing our dreams and achieving our goals.
The good news is that we have the power to change our story. Our story is just our thinking and we are not our thoughts!
Conventional advice would say to start by examining the beliefs that are holding you back and challenge them. Focus on your strengths and successes and remind yourself that you are capable of achieving anything you set your mind to. And this is a great start but when we look deeper, we can see that these solutions are also just more thinking! We are simply exchanging one thought for another and the mind is still full of unnecessary Noise. Noise takes over our lives and doesn’t leave much room for anything else. It is congestion of the mind. Congestion, which over time we can leave behind.
A quiet mind on the other hand is not congested it is quite the opposite, it is calm and flows easily from one task to the next. It becomes a space where we can have insights about our lives rediscovering who we really are rather than projecting our story of ourselves into the world. Because, most of the time, the story isn’t true! And, what we would prefer is for people to see who we really are and the values that we hold close to our hearts. So, if you are holding on to a story of who and what you are and it no longer serves you, give yourself permission to let go of it and give space for who you really are to shine to the surface.
